Twisted Stuffed Puff Pastry Rolls
Ingredients
Puff pastry sheets
Sliced tomatoes
Grated cheese (mozzarella or mixed cheese)
Sliced bell peppers (optional)
Cooked chicken or ham/bacon (optional depending on your version)
Cream cheese or mayonnaise
Salt and black pepper
1 egg (for brushing)
Fresh parsley or sesame seeds for garnish
Preparation Method
- Prepare the filling
Mix your filling ingredients in a bowl:
Grated cheese
Chopped tomatoes
Bell peppers
Shredded chicken or slices of ham/bacon
A spoon of cream cheese or mayonnaise
Add salt and pepper
- Prepare the pastry
Roll out the puff pastry sheet.
Cut it into long rectangular strips.
Place a line of filling in the center of each strip.
- Form the twist
Fold the strip over the filling.
Hold both ends and gently twist the pastry to create the spiral shape.
Place each twisted roll on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Brush and garnish
Brush the tops with beaten egg.
Sprinkle sesame seeds or chopped parsley if you like.
- Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20–25 minutes
until golden and crispy.
