Mashed Potatoes with Beef Gravy

Ingredients:

For the Mashed Potatoes:

1 kg potatoes (peeled and cut into chunks)

3 tbsp butter

½ cup warm milk

Salt and black pepper (to taste)

For the Beef Gravy:

300 g ground beef (or minced beef)

1 medium onion (finely chopped)

2 tbsp butter or oil

2 tbsp flour

2 cups beef broth (or water + stock cube)

Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Optional: garlic powder, thyme, or rosemary for extra flavor


Preparation:

  1. Make the Mashed Potatoes:

Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft (about 15–20 minutes).

Drain, then mash with butter and warm milk until smooth and creamy.

Season with salt and black pepper.

  1. Prepare the Beef Gravy:

In a pan, heat butter or oil and sauté the onion until golden.

Add ground beef and cook until browned.

Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.

Slowly add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.

Simmer until thickened (5–7 minutes). Season to taste.

  1. Serve:

Place mashed potatoes in a bowl or plate.

Pour the beef gravy over the top.
