Layered Rice & Meat Bake.
Ingredients
For the rice layer:
2 cups cooked rice
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup milk (optional for creaminess)
Salt & black pepper to taste
For the meat layer:
400–500 g ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup tomato sauce (optional)
Salt, black pepper
Paprika (optional)
A little oil for cooking
For the top:
1 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella or any melting cheese
Preparation
- Prepare the rice layer
- In a bowl, mix the cooked rice with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Combine well until the rice becomes creamy.
- Prepare the meat filling
- Heat a little oil in a pan.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add tomato paste and tomato sauce.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Assemble the layers
- In an oven dish, add a layer of rice and spread it evenly.
- Add a layer of the meat mixture.
- Repeat the layers (rice → meat → rice).
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Bake
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes golden.
Serving
Let it rest for 5 minutes, then cut and serve.
It becomes like a delicious layered rice casserole.
