Cheesy Potato Casserole
Ingredients:
1 kg (2 lbs) potatoes (peeled and thinly sliced)
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
200 ml (¾ cup) heavy cream
150 ml (½ cup) milk
200 g (2 cups) grated mozzarella cheese
100 g (1 cup) grated cheddar cheese (or any yellow cheese)
Fresh thyme or parsley (for garnish)
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Cook onion & garlic: In a pan, melt the butter, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
- Prepare the sauce: Add heavy cream and milk to the pan, season with salt and pepper. Stir
- well and let it heat (don’t boil).
- Layer the potatoes: Place half of the potato slices in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture and sprinkle with mozzarella and
