Cheese Puff Pastry Rolls

Ingredients:

1 sheet of puff pastry (ready-made, thawed if frozen)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 egg (beaten, for brushing)

1 tablespoon butter (melted)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon mixed herbs (optional)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds or black seeds (for topping)

A pinch of salt and black pepper


Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    Set your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Prepare the pastry:
    Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
    Cut it into rectangles (about 10×15 cm each).
  3. Add the filling:
    Mix the mozzarella and cheddar cheese in a bowl.
    Place some of the cheese mixture in the center of each rectangle.
  4. Roll them up:
    Roll each piece tightly into a log shape.
    Seal the edges by pressing gently with your fingers.
  5. Brush and season:
    Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    Brush them with the beaten egg or melted butter.
    Sprinkle garlic powder, herbs, sesame seeds, salt, and black pepper on top.
  6. Bake:
    Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve:
    Serve warm — perfect as a snack or side dish!
