Savory Loaf with Cheese
🧀 Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup milk (or buttermilk)
1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
1 1/2 cups grated cheese (cheddar or a mix of cheeses)
👩🍳 Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and oil until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).
- Fold in 1 cup of grated cheese, keeping the remaining 1/2 cup for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
