Savory Loaf with Cheese


🧀 Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup milk (or buttermilk)

1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)

1 1/2 cups grated cheese (cheddar or a mix of cheeses)


👩‍🍳 Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and oil until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  5. Fold in 1 cup of grated cheese, keeping the remaining 1/2 cup for topping.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.

👉 This bread is soft, fluffy inside, and cheesy on top – perfect to serve warm with tea or soup.
