Hasselback Baked Potatoes

4 large potatoes
3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
1 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme
Grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Get ready — the magic starts now!
- Prepare the potatoes:
Wash the potatoes well, then slice them thinly — but not all the way down!
You want them to open like a beautiful fan while staying connected at the bottom. - Flavor time!
In a small bowl, mix olive oil (or butter) with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano.
Brush this mixture generously over the potatoes, making sure it gets inside the slices. - Into the oven they go:
Place the potatoes on a baking tray and bake for about 45–55 minutes, until they turn golden, crispy on the outside, and tender inside. - Cheese moment!
Take the potatoes out, sprinkle lots of grated cheese on top, and return them to the oven for 5–7 minutes until the cheese melts and turns slightly golden. - Final touch
